USB桌面管理器
如果有这样一个设备，内置一个USB Hub，对电脑只有一个USB插口，允许你把你所有的各种USB线都插上去，并帮你把这些USB线绕起来，估计会很受欢迎。
想象一下。当你买来一个新的电子设备，又有一种新的USB线。你就把这根线插到这个盒子里，盒子自动把你的线收回到自己肚子里，把接口留在外面。当你有很多种线的时候，这个盒子肚子里就有很多线。你永远只需要把电脑和这个盒子连起来。
当你需要用某种接口的时候，就用手拉一下这个接口，这个接口自动把线送出来。用完了按一下，再自动收回去.....当你需要把线带走的时候，很容易把线拿下来。

Redhat中的IO性能
今天在测试中发现，Redhat中的小size random IO性能特别差。测试中测试了两个Redhat版本：AS 3 Update 6和AS4 Update2，同时测试了本地硬盘和光纤存储，小size random IO性能实在是太差。IOmeter测试的结果显示单线程4KB 100% random IO的性能才只有几百KB。
有人知道为什么吗？
我想我基本明白了原因。
IO size = 4KB，所以每一个I/O，只有一块硬盘在发挥作用。因此IOPS就受限于单块硬盘的性能。而单块硬盘的性能可以做如下的分析：
146G的10KRPM硬盘，比如seagate的，参数如下(link)：
- Full Disc Seek, Read 9.5 msec typical
- Full Disc Seek, Write 10.3 msec typical
- Average Latency 3 msec

其实这样的功能很久以来大家都在做，象以前的my.yahoo.com(现在也许还有，但我很久没用过了)。google却能把大家都在做的事情做到最好。
Google Homepage初看起来似乎只是rss的aggregate，但当google开放了它homepage的API后，一切都不一样了，Google Modules证明了这一点。

工具的力量是无穷的，竟然有FireFox里的插件支持离线发布LiveJournal，再加上LiveJournal OpenSource的开发方式，Clean的界面。试试吧。

考试终于过了
CLARiiON Specialist, passed at 82%. 也不觉得怎么爽，考试的内容也挺没劲的，都是考些背的东西。
还要继续准备下周二的Seminar和下周三面向全国Telco CSL的session。这些破事为什么做起来都没兴趣呢？

又是一天
停车，上楼，开门。门里依然是一片漆黑。
没有声音，没有人，更加没有做好的热气腾腾的饭。
Visit, Individual, Seminar, Engagement, MBO... 每天和这几个词纠缠，这是成长吗？
看书，学习，准备考试。自己选择换了行业，换了工作性质，只能自己把自己归零，一切从头。
欧亚大陆的另一端，七个小时的时差，不长也不短。亲爱的，我不知道你面对全新的一切的时候有没有特别希望我陪在你身边。如果你是这样的，那你和我一样。
我离开的公司继续着每年一次的动荡，不知道如果我不离开的话有没有可能还继续拥有从前的位置。
向前看，向后看，都看不清。

Backup your disk
The hard disk is not reliable, neither portable hard disk. We need
desktop backup. I started to use the EMC Dantz Retrospect to backup my
hard disk to DVD RW today.
You need to make your own backup plan from now.
